Ed Sheeran talks LEGO House video

Ed Sheeran has spoken out about his original plans for the video of his single LEGO house.

Speaking with Orlando based radio station MIX 105.1, Sheeran stated “My original idea for the ‘LEGO House’ video was to do a stop motion LEGO video and I was told that it would cost too much. I was told that it would take too long, and I was told that LEGO didn’t really want to…it was weird, apparently I don’t fit LEGO’s demographic ’cause I’m a little bit older.”

The story is reminiscent of The White Stripes attempt to get LEGO on board for their 2002 hit “Fell In Love With A Girl”. Director Michael Gondry attempted to get LEGO on board only to be told by LEGO “We don’t market our product to people over the age of twelve”. LEGO then, according to Jack White, did a u-turn once the song became an international hit and tried to resurrect a deal which would have seen LEGO minifigures of Jack and Meg White packaged with each single release of the song only for Jack White to refuse.
