LEGO Arctic Batman vs. Mr. Freeze: Aquaman review

Mr. Freeze has trapped Aquaman in a block of ice and only Batman can release him! Speed to the rescue in the powerful Batboat with exhaust flames, deploy the missiles and release the bombs to bust that block of ice. It’s time to turn the heat up on Mr. Freeze! Includes 3 minifigures: white Arctic Batman, Mr. Freeze and Aquaman, all with assorted weapons!

Minifigures: The selection of minifigures is ok, we get Aquaman and Mr. Freeze which are both pretty cool but it seems kind of strange to have Batman in white! Mr. Freeze comes with a large backpack with two cylindrical tanks. The solitary piece also incorporates his helmet and torso though it would have been nice to have his gun connect to his back in a similar fashion to Hazmat Guy.

Build: There are only 192 pieces in the set so the build took around 20 -25 minutes. The main part of the set is the Batboat – which is featured in LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. The boat is of a catamaran design with the main hull positioned between two other hulls with a large Batwing type fin is positioned to the rear.

Either side of the cockpit there are disc launchers that can be fired and at the back there are two bombs that can be dropped on Batman’s enemies!

There is also the ice prison which encapsulates Aquaman which when built can be made to explode!

Overall: 3 out of 5. The Batboat and Aquaman are the best things about the set… the rest is a little underwhelming.
