LEGO Spider-Man: Spider-Cycle Chase review

Venom has taken control of Nick Fury’s S.H.I.E.L.D. flying car and is making a super-fast getaway. Send Spider-Man to the rescue in his cool Spider-Cycle! Help Spider-Man catch this venomous villain and return the car to the good guys! Watch out for Venom’s vicious symbiont web attack! Use the folding wheels on both vehicles for the perfect high-speed pursuit in the air or on land.

Minifigures: The minifigure selection is fantastic! We get the obligatory Spider-Man figure, a long overdue Nick Fury minifigure and Venom… need we say anymore?

Nick Fury is a welcome addition to the ever expanding selection of Marvel minifigures and also looks well beside the rest of The Avengers team. The only accessory is a gun, which is the same type as the one that came with the Deadpool minifigure from 6866 Wolverine Chopper Showdown set.

The Venom minifigure is very well thought out. The tentacles are pieces that have appeared as vines in previous sets which attach to a clip that allows the tentacles to rotate while attached Venom’s back. We also get two seperate pieces of Venom’s symbiote shape-shifting organism.

Build: The Spider-Cycle is based on the the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon version which allows Spidey to reach his destination at a faster rate, relieving sustained muscle strength from his reliable use of slinging web shooters! It is quite a simple build of around 40 pieces using a few technic elements for the wheels, which split then swing out into a horizontal position.

Nick Fury’s hover car is much cooler, but I was disappointed that the two 1 x 3 bricks with bow were missing from the set as detailed in the instructions and seemingly replaced by two 1 x 2 x ⅔ lattice roof tiles – a common error or a random mistake?

Overall: 4 out of 5. The minifigures are what makes this set great
